Electric Vehicle CarTrain Forms Part of SkillsUSA Championship 2018

Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Skills will be tested at the upcoming SkillsUSA Championship 2018 using the CarTrain "Hybrid and All Electric Vehicle Technology Trainer" from Lucas-Nülle. Forming part of the student stations at the competition, the system will be an integral component in assessing Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Safety.

The SkillsUSA Championship, to be held in Louisville, Kentucky, is a national competition for students who have successfully competed and won through from their local State level. As the official US representative body to WorldSkills, SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. The organisation provides educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education in the nation’s classrooms.

The Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Trainer is part of the wider CarTrain series which covers petrol, diesel, hybrid and full electric engine systems. These systems are comprehensive resources, ideal for learning about the full Engine Management system, including real sensors and actuators. Students can perform diagnostic and troubleshooting activities on a range of common faults and are fully supported by digital courseware. CarTrains are well utilised around the world including within several of Australia’s and New Zealand’s leading TAFEs and Polytechnics.

The EV CarTrain being used at the SkillsUSA competition covers all Hybrid and Full Electric drive configurations found in industry and allows trainers and students to cover topics including:
